Walleye Stocking

Walleye Stocking

On Thursday, September 26, 2024, around 6000 6-8 inch walleyes were released into Lake Kegonsa.

Thank you to everyone that make this possible by supporting the Stoughton Conservation Club Ice Fisheree. This would not happen without the support of our raffle ticket sales.
A big thank you to Craig and Mike from Gollon Bait and Fish Farm for a safe release! We started to release the walleye fingerlings at Quam’s Marina, but the water was too low and was not favorable, so they moved the truck over to Amundson’s Boat Landing to finish releasing the walleyes.
Good luck catching them as they grow up!

Trees and Shrubs – Order Now!

IT’S TIME TO ORDER TREES AND SHRUBS

Each Stoughton Conservation Club member may order up to 200 trees or shrubs in groups of 50 of any variety available.

The order is filled in the springtime, but we don’t get an exact date. We’ll let you know when they’re in, so you can pick up your orders.

Orders MUST be submitted no later than October 10, 2024.

First, take a look at the DNR website to find out what options are available:

https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/treeplanting/stockdescription

Decide what you want to order, in groups of 50, and send the request to: scctreesandshrubs@gmail.com

Please understand that not all orders will get filled depending on DNR stock!

If you have any questions email scctreesandshrubs@gmail.com

Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Can I order 25 of something?

Answer: NO! The minimum order is 50.

Question: Can I still get an order in after October 10th?

Answer: NO! The DNR processes the orders first come, first served, so we won’t take any late orders.

Question: How and when do I pay for the trees I ordered?

Answer: You don’t! As part of SCC’s conservation efforts, the club covers the costs of the tree and shrub seedlings. You just have to do your part by planting them in the spring.

2024 Fall Leagues and Activities at SCC

Fall Leagues and Activities at Stoughton Conservation Club

Fall is almost here, but you don’t have to wait until September 22 to join one of our Fall leagues.

Fall Shotgun League

Fall Shotgun League, (AKA: Fall Trap League) starts Thursday, September 5th and runs from 6:00 until around 8:00 or so. We go week to week once the weather starts getting colder. As sunset starts getting earlier we will turn the lights on.

This is an informal league, so SCC members can just show up and shoot. There is no advance sign-up needed. You will use your own Long Range Card to shoot. Don’t have a Long Range Card yet? You can get one September 4th (see below).

During the Fall league you can shoot whatever you like each week, with both trap and skeet available. Usually there is a group that will shoot together and it varies what we might shoot each week. Some different options are available:

  • Trap
  • Skeet
  • Wobble Trap
  • Doubles Trap

Fall league is great way to learn how to shoot trap or skeet if you’ve never done it before.

Centerfire Pistol League

Our Centerfire Pistol League starts on Thursday, September 5th with the informational meeting and practice night. The meeting will start around 6:30.

League shooting starts September 7th and runs each Thursday for 10 weeks until November 14th.

The League Banquet and Fun Night is November 21st.

This is a Bullseye pistol league. You’ll shoot 30 rounds per night, 10 rounds slow fire, 10 rounds of timed fire, and 10 of rapid fire. Scores are kept for friendly competition. All skill levels are welcome. Any centerfire pistol .32 caliber and up is allowed provided it meets the requirements for our indoor pistol range.

If you’ve never shot in the league before please try to make it to the meeting on September 5th.

Blacksheep Pistol League

The Blacksheep League shoots on Wednesday nights starting on September 4th. They shoot each Wednesday until December 11.

This is a less formal league where you only compete against yourself. Any pistol type is allowed; air, .22, centerfire, etc. as long as it meets the requirements for the indoor pistol range.
