Public Events

The following events are open to members and non-members.

3D Archery Night Shoot – Friday, August 15 – 6:00 PM

Shoot 3D targets under the lights! Cost: $40

Sporting Clays – Saturday, August 16 – 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

$20 for a round of 50 Sporting Clays.

This is the last Sporting Clays event for the summer at SCC. Don’t miss it!

3D Archery Tournament – August 23/24 – 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM

50 Rinehart Target 3D Shoot

Saturday and Sunday 8am to 3pm. Food and refreshments available. Cost $12

Trapathlon – Saturday, September 6 – 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Trapathlon is a combination of 4 trap events. You will shoot, Singles, Handicap, Wobble, and Doubles.

Cost is $40 per person paid in cash at the event. Youth team members should wear their team jersey or vest to receive a discount.

Pre-registration is recommended to ensure your spot. Pre-registration includes a flurry ticket ($5 value).

Kids Try Trap Free – Sunday, September 7 – 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

The Viking Lead Slingers are hosting TRY TRAP FOR FREE! This event is for kids who want to learn how to shoot trap and skeet. All kids are welcomed to come out and try it. You don’t have to be a member or even from Stoughton.

Kids who want to try should generally be big enough to handle shooting a 20 gauge shotgun and have not yet graduated high school. We provide the gun, ammo, eye and ear protection, and experienced coaches to help the kids shoot safely. Safety is our #1 priority.

Sunday September 7th, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the Trap and Skeet fields.

Women’s Open Shoot

Women club members and non-members are welcome to attend the Women’s Open Shoot. Event fee of $5 for non-members. Cash only.

Bring your pistol, ammo, eye and ear protection, and targets and come to the Women’s Open Shoot. Meet other women club members or experience the club first hand! A female NRA certified range safety officer and pistol instructor will be onsite during the Women’s Open Shoot for guidance if needed.

Members Only Events

Stop the Bleed – Tuesday, September 23 – 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Stop the Bleed is put on by the Dane County Sheriffs. You will learn how to stop bleeding from bad cuts all the way up to gun shot wounds. This course is hands on. Space is limited. Please sign up ASAP!

CPR and AED Training – Tuesday, October 14 – 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

The CPR/AED training class will teach you how to perform CPR and how to use AEDs. Did you know that SCC has AEDs in our two main buildings? We’d like our members to know how to use them, just in case. Space is limited. Please sign up ASAP!

Leagues – Members Only

Black Sheep Pistol League – Wednesdays

Black Sheep Pistol League starts September 3rd and runs each Wednesday until December.

Centerfire Pistol League – Thursdays

Centerfire Pistol League starts on Thursday, September 4th with the organizational meeting and practice night, and runs each Thursday. League shooting starts on September 11 and runs for 10 weeks with the banquet and fun night on Thursday, November 20th.

Fall Trap/Skeet League – Thursdays

Fall Trap League starts on Thursday, September 4th and runs each Thursday until the weather turns nasty. Fall trap league is an informal league and no sign-up is required. You can just show up and shoot using your Long Rang card. We usually start around 6:00 PM.

On September 4th we will set up a field with Doubles and one with Wobble to practice for the Trapathlon.
