Trap and Skeet
SCC has four trap fields, two of which serve as combination trap/skeet fields. The trap/skeet fields are located outside the New Clubhouse. All trap and skeet activities listed below are reserved for club members.
We have recently installed a system that allows members to pay for and shoot trap and skeet via a self service kiosk and card readers. Members must attend an orientation where they will receive a card that allows use of the Long Range system. Members who don’t have their own card are allowed to shoot with their friends or family members who have been through the orientation. Non-members are allowed to shoot with their member friends if they pay a $10 daily club use fee (limit once per year).
The manual we use for the orientation is here:
Leagues
All leagues at SCC are members-only. Interested in becoming a member?
Monday Morning Trap/Skeet
Monday mornings from 8:30am – 10:00am you can find member only trap and skeet shooting. This is a year around activity, staffed and enjoyed by our retired club members. Must have a Long Range card to purchase rounds!
Summer Trap League
SCC runs a members-only Summer Trap League on Thursday evenings from Mid-May to Mid-August (check the calendar) from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Each trap team consists of five people. Each team is assigned a starting time prior to the first night of trap. The starting time increases weekly in half-hour increments so that all teams shoot at the various times. Each team also rotates between each trap field. For example: Team 1 shooting at 6:00 pm on trap field 1 the first week, will shoot the second week at 6:30 pm on trap field 2, and will shoot at 7:00 pm on trap field 3, and so on. League fees are set by the League Committees and can vary based on costs. The 2022 Trap League was $115 for 12 weeks of shooting which included all targets and a fun night/barbecue. Any club members may participate, although the league has been so popular that there have been waiting lists some years.
Fall Trap/Skeet League
Starting the first week of September, we may run a fall trap/skeet league. The league will run as long as the weather is reasonable, usually ending in late October or early November. Any member can show up to shoot. There is no pre-registration necessary. Must have a Long Range card to purchase rounds!
New Shooters
If you’re new to trap and/or skeet and want to learn, start by attending a Long Range Orientation so you can get a card that allows you to buy rounds. Try to come out during the Monday Morning League or during Fall Trap/Skeet League. Ask someone how it works, and they may give you some pointers and help get started.
Safety First
As with all Club functions and facilities, safety is NUMBER ONE, and anyone behaving in an unsafe manner will be asked to leave. No alcohol consumption before shooting. NO EXCEPTIONS AND NO DISCUSSION!
